ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL MANAGEMENT PLANS

EMC prepares Environmental and Social Management Plans as required by Guyana’s EPA as part of environmental authorization of projects. The ESMPs are prepared in accordance with the EPA’s Guidelines for Preparing ESMPs and is done utilizing a multi-disciplinary team of experts. The approach to preparing ESMPs include establishing a baseline and regulatory and institutional context, an assessment of potential impacts of projects on the physical, biological and socio-economic environment and identifying practical and cost effective measures to mitigate and manage the potential impacts. EMC has prepared over 5o ESMPs.
