EMC Strengthens Collaboration and Team Spirit Through Outdoor Activities

On August 7, 2026, EMC hosted a team-building activity designed to strengthen collaboration, communication and team engagement.

The afternoon outdoor session provided team members with an opportunity to step away from their regular work routines and participate in a series of activities that encouraged teamwork, coordination and friendly competition. The programme featured a mix of traditional games, each providing a different opportunity for team members to demonstrate communication, cooperation and team spirit.

The activities began with lime and spoon, a game that required participants to carefully balance a lime on a spoon while making their way to the finish line. While simple in concept, the activity tested concentration, coordination and composure, with team members encouraging their colleagues throughout the challenge.

Next was dog and the bone, a fast-paced game that required participants to remain alert and respond quickly. The activity brought out the competitive spirit among team members while encouraging teamwork, quick decision-making and coordination.

The tug of war provided an opportunity for teams to work together towards a common goal. Success depended on collective effort, timing and coordination, highlighting how individual contributions can have a greater impact when combined with those of the wider team.

The three-legged race put teamwork, coordination and communication to the test, as pairs worked together to navigate the course with their legs tied together. The activity highlighted the importance of synchronisation and cooperation, while adding another element of fun and friendly competition to the afternoon.

The sack race added another element of fun and friendly competition to the afternoon. Participants navigated the course while working to maintain their balance and pace, while colleagues cheered them on from the sidelines. The activity encouraged team members to engage with one another in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

The afternoon concluded with a game of cricket, bringing together teamwork, strategy and friendly competition. Team members had the opportunity to participate in different roles while supporting their respective teams, creating an engaging end to the outdoor activities.

Beyond the individual games, the activity provided an opportunity for employees to connect in a more informal setting, strengthen interpersonal relationships and engage with colleagues outside their usual work responsibilities. The shared experience also created opportunities for team members to communicate, support one another and build stronger connections across the team.

The team-building activity reflects EMC’s continued commitment to employee engagement and to fostering a workplace where collaboration, mutual support and strong professional relationships contribute to organisational success. By creating opportunities for employees to connect beyond their day-to-day responsibilities, EMC continues to promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
