Sustainable Tourism Promotes Conservation

November is Tourism Awareness Month in Guyana. One of its primary objectives is to raise awareness of Guyana as a leading eco-tourism destination. This year’s theme, ‘All Sectors, One Tourism,’ highlights how tourism encompasses economic, socio-cultural, and environmental sectors.

Tourists are drawn to Guyana because of its rich biodiversity, unique landscapes, and diverse culture. Sustainable and well-managed tourism plays an important role in advancing conservation and protecting Guyana’s important ecosystems.

EMC contributes to sustainable tourism through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives which include the Saxacalli Rainforest Centre and support to the Mahaica River Birding Tours.
