Fisheries

Fisheries is one of the traditional sectors in Guyana. EMC has provided support to both artisanal and commercial fisheries operations. EMC’s experience include:

• Prepared Environmental Management Plans for salted fish, shark fin and glue processing plants in the Demerara area.
• Prepared a Waste Management Plan for a major seafood harvesting and processing operation on the East Bank of Demerara.
• Currently providing environmental compliance support to a major seafood harvesting and processing operation on the East Bank of Demerara.

EMC is also currently working with artisanal fishermen across the coast of Guyana on a participatory fish study.
