EMC Biologists & Consultants Benefit from Biodiversity Assessment Training
On Monday, January 6, 2025, over twenty Biologists and Consultants attached to the Environmental Management Consultants Inc. (EMC Inc.) commenced training in Biodiversity Assessments.
The five-day training program will examine the critical components of biodiversity assessments, including how to plan and design assessments, field survey methods, data analysis and reporting.
This training will also have a practical aspect where assessments and on-site training will be conducted at the Saxacalli Rainforest Centre managed by EMC Inc. on the Essequibo River.
While delivering opening remarks today, Managing Director of EMC Inc., Mr. Shyam Nokta, underscored the importance of biodiversity assessment in helping to promote a better understanding of Guyana’s rich biodiversity. He emphasised critical aspects that the program will cover and the opportunity for participants to improve on and develop new skills in this important area.
The training is being conducted by internationally renowned Biodiversity Specialist, Dr. Francis Clarke, who has over twenty-five years of experience in biodiversity conservation and environmental management in Guyana.
This Biodiversity Assessment Training is part of EMC Inc.’s commitment to constantly upskilling our staff, providing refresher training, and raising the level of biodiversity services provided in Guyana.
