Mr. Shyam Nokta holds a Masters of Science in Environmental Assessment and Management from the University of Oxford–Brookes and a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Guyana. Mr. Nokta is also the recipient of several awards and scholarships including the Fulbright Scholarship to pursued Doctoral studies.

Mr. Nokta has overseen the growth and expansion of EMC over the last 10 years to one of Guyana’s premier environmental consultancy firms and which specializes in environmental assessments and support services and which works across a range of sectors including forestry, conservation, manufacturing, mining, agriculture, infrastructure, energy and oil and gas.

Mr. Nokta has accumulated over twenty-five (25) years of experience working in the areas of environmental assessment and management, conservation, tourism development, and climate change and has been involved in major initiatives and projects in Guyana. Mr. Nokta served as Adviser to the President and Head of the Office of Climate Change where he coordinated Guyana’s response to climate change, the development and implementation of the Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) and REDD+ Partnership with the Kingdom of Norway. He was also involved in key conservation initiatives such as the establishing of Guyana’s National Protected Areas System and has chaired several national boards and committees in the areas of tourism, conservation and climate change and green growth.

Mr. Nokta held the position of President of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) and currently serves as the Chief Representative for the Caribbean for the Delhi-based Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

Mrs. Malisa Nokta is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Guyana (ICAG). She holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Australia Institute of Business (AIB) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Guyana (UG). Mrs. Nokta has accumulated over fifteen (15) years of experience working in the areas of finance, auditing and human resources management in both public and private organisations in Guyana.

Mr. Khalid Alladin has a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Major-Geography, Minor-Law) from the University of Guyana.

Mr. Alladin has in excess of twenty (20) years’ experience in environmental management. At EMC he has gained significant experience having been involved in conducting environmental impact assessments (EIAs); preparing strategic environmental assessments (SEAs) and environmental management plans (EMPs) and environmental auditing and monitoring.

Previously Mr. Alladin was employed at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) where he served in various positions, including as Head of the Environmental Management Division. His experience includes project management, environmental monitoring, capacity building, training, research and report preparation.

Ms. Kandila Ramotar holds a Master in Science in Carbon Management form the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Guyana. Ms. Ramotar previously worked with the Government of Guyana supporting the implementation of the Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) and climate change negotiations under the UNFCCC.

At EMC, Ms. Ramotar supports environmental compliance monitoring and reporting and is focused on projects int he oil and gas, infrastructure and energy sectors. In addition, she provides technical input to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Management Plans.

Ms. Sharmattie Ramnath holds an ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business and a Diploma in Accountancy and has accumulated over ten (10) years of experience working in the areas of administration and accounting in both the public and private sector in Guyana.

Ms. Ramnath has been with EMC for over 14 years and is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the office and coordination of projects.

Mr. Michael Philander has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana and experience in marine fisheries.

Mr. Philander coordinates a Participatory Fish Study to collect, document and report on fishing activities by artisanal fisherfolks along the coast of Guyana.

Ms. Tishawanna Harry has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Guyana and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Management at the University of Guyana.

Ms. Harry supports environmental compliance monitoring and reporting, working mainly on mining and infrastructure projects and also supporting the preparation of Environmental Management Plans. Ms. Harry has lead responsibility at EMC for Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) matters.

Ms. Shannon Stephenson has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Tourism Studies from the University of Guyana and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science (Environmental Management) at the said institution.

Ms. Stephenson brings to EMC experience from the tourism and hospitality sector having worked with a leading hotel establishment, tour operators and the Ministry of Tourism.

Shannon supports tourism and conservation-related activities at EMC.

Ms. Latchmi Mukhlall has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Guyana. She is certified in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Ms. Mukhlall supports the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) at EMC and overall team activities.

Mr. Bankole Holder has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Bankole has working experience at EMC that encompasses compliance monitoring, baseline studies, and the preparation of Environmental Management Plans. Bankole is a member of EMC’s Marine Team.

Mr. Poorandayal Omacharan has a Master’s in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development from the University of the West Indies and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from the University of Guyana. Poorandayal has a background in mangrove research and survey. At EMC, Poorandayal supports overall team activities including compliance monitoring, baseline studies, watershed monitoring and the preparation of Environment Management Plans.

Ms. Ashwattie Ramnarine has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Ashwattie is a member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Mr. Tejay Anderson has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Tejay is a member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Ms. Neesa Azam has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Neesa has working experience which encompasses the fisheries sector and microbiology laboratory
skills. Neesa is a member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Ms. Sonia Wilfred has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology (specializing in Zoology) from the University of Guyana. Sonia is a member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved baseline studies.

Mr. Noah Sills has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Mr. Sills is a member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Mr. Jumel Jarvis has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Mr. Jarvis is a
member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Mr. Dimitri Thom has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the University of Guyana. Mr. Thom is a member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Ms. Bushani Kaladeen has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Ms. Kaladeen brings to EMC experience in Food Microbiology and Water Chemistry analysis having worked with a reputable laboratory. Ms. Kaladeen is a member of the EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Mr. Shaquan Canterbury has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Mr. Canterbury is a member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Mrs. Keneisha Carryl Straughn has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Guyana. Mrs. Carryl-Straughn is a member of EMC’s Marine Team and is involved in baseline studies.

Mr. Deopaul Somwaru is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Biology from the University of Guyana. At EMC, Mr. Somwaru supports overall team activities including compliance monitoring, baseline studies, watershed monitoring, and the preparation of Environment Management Plans.

Ms. Sarah Singh has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Biology from the University of Guyana. Ms. Singh has working experience in environmental awareness, community development and baseline studies. At EMC, Ms. Singh supports overall team activities including, marine turtle studies, watershed monitoring and environmental awareness initiatives.

Mr. Sheridan Frank has an ABE Diploma in Marketing Management, a Diploma in Business Management, and a Diploma in Graphic and Web Design. Mr. Frank has over ten (10) years of experience working in the design industry. At EMC, Mr. Frank supports the development and graphic design of various communication and awareness materials.

Ms. Annalise Lima has Level 2 CAT qualification and a Diploma in Computerized Accounting. Ms. Lima has accumulated over five (5)  years of experience of accounting working in the private sector in Guyana. At EMC, Ms. Lima, is part of the Financial Team and is responsible for the Day-to-day financial transactions.

Ms. Bhudranie Boodhoo has certification in Computer Studies from Global Technology and Pitman English from London. Ms. Boodhoo has over ten (10) years’ working experience in office administration in both the private and public sectors. Ms. Boodhoo currently provides support to EMC’s Marine Team.

Ms. Arlene Abrams has working experience which encompasses marine turtle conservation and over six (6) years working in the private sector in Guyana. Arlene provides support to EMC’s marine team.

Ms. Aletha Jewanram has a certificate in Computer Studies from Unitech Computer Centre. Aletha has over ten (10) years of experience in office administration in the private sector of Guyana. Aletha provides support to EMC’s marine team.

Mr. Ravendra Hansraj is a certified driver with over ten years’ experience driving a diverse range of vehicles. At EMC Inc., Mr. Hansraj oversees the maintenance of EMC facilities, vehicles, and equipment, and supports project field visits, including logistics, health and safety, sample collection, and data recording.

Mr. Balram Singh is a certified driver with over ten years’ experience. At EMC Inc., Mr. Singh provides administrative, technical, and logistical support in office management and projects implementation.

Mr. Rajendra Seedharie is a certified driver with over ten years’ experience. At EMC Inc., Mr. Seedharie provides administrative, technical, and logistical support in office management and projects implementation.

Mr. Annil Deonanan is a certified driver with over five (5) years’ experiences driving a diverse range of vehicles. At EMC Mr. Deonanan provides administrative, technical, and logistical support in
office management and projects implementation.

Mr. Totaram Mangroo is a certified driver with over five years’ experience. At EMC Inc, Mr. Mangroo provides administrative, technical, and logistical support in office management and projects implementation.

Mr. Trevor Emanuel is a certified driver with over twenty-five (25) years of experience driving a diverse range of vehicles. At EMC Mr. Emanuel provides administrative, technical, and logistical support in office management and projects implementation.

Mr. Roopendra Boodhoo is a certified driver with over twenty (20) years of experience driving a diverse range of vehicles. At EMC, Mr. Boodhoo provides administrative, technical, and logistical support in office management and projects implementation.
