Contributing to Meaningful Environmental Work is Rewarding
Ravendra Hansraj has been a driver and field assistant at EMC for over ten years and supports the maintenance of EMC facilities, vehicles, and equipment. He also supports project field visits, including logistics, health and safety, sample collection, and data recording.
What word would you use to describe your work?
The best word to describe my work is challenging. Waking up at early hours to get out into the field is tough, but knowing that I am contributing to meaningful environmental work makes it a rewarding sacrifice.
What is the best part about working at EMC?
The opportunity to explore different regions of Guyana. Traveling to diverse areas allows me to connect with new people, expand my network, and constantly acquire new skills.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to work at EMC?
My advice to anyone hoping to work at EMC is: expect to be dynamic. You won’t be doing the same thing every day. Having worked at EMC for 11 years, I have participated in many projects. I am able to learn new skills from my co-workers on a daily basis, and I get the opportunity to make a difference in the environmental field. The dynamic nature of my work ensures that each day is unique, presenting fresh challenges and opportunities to learn and grow.
