EMC Showcases Environmental Efforts at World Environment Day 2024

On June 2, 2024, EMC took part in an exhibition organized by the Environmental Protection Agency to celebrate World Environment Day 2024. The event was filled with educational activities that emphasized the importance of small actions and the belief that people can help create a resilient and thriving Guyana.

At the EMC booth, visitors saw various environmental monitoring tools such as water quality meters and camera traps. The booth also featured educational publications and posters on sea turtle telemetry, showcasing EMC’s research and conservation work. Videos of EMC’s projects were on display, and there was an interactive environmental-themed ‘match-three-in-a-row’ game. Winners of the game received EMC publications to further promote environmental awareness.

The event attracted school children and teachers, private sector professionals, and public sector officials. It was a great opportunity for everyone to learn about EMC’s role in environmental management and the services EMC offers.
