International Women’s Day (IWD)

International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, is a day that commemorates the social, political, and economic achievements of women. This year’s IWD theme is “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” reiterating the link between gender equality and enhanced environmental outcomes. At EMC, women make up 57 percent of the workforce, and 50 percent of the senior management team. In addition, EMC champions professional development and opportunities for women in the environmental field through networking, training, and mentoring.
